Overview

Over the course of my career, I’ve worked as a UX Researcher and a VR Game Developer with UC Santa Cruz’s ASSIST Lab. In collaboration with non-profit organizations, including Smile Train, TERI and Hope Services, I’ve developed and evaluated serious VR games for the socioemotional support of individuals with disabilities.

Leadership

I’ve served as a Mentor with UC Santa Cruz’s Science Internship Program (SIP) for 5 years, where I mentored more than 15 high school students on how to conduct university level assistive technology and VR research. Our projects focused on the development of 360-degree video-based VR games for people with developmental disabilities.

I’ve also worked with WISE’s GradPath program for 2 years in mentoring young women in STEM majors interested in applying and attending graduate programs.

Interests

My professional interests include human factors/UX, assistive technology, VR and HCI. In particular, my research interests revolve around the application of innovative technologies in promoting accessibility.

My personal interests include cooking, reading and gaming. I also have a 3 year old cat named Muffins.
